BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote.
NEW: At Pope Leo’s Urging, Bishops Issue Historic Rebuke of Trump’s Raids
Nearly all U.S. Catholic bishops united in Baltimore to denounce the Trump administration’s “inhumane” deportation campaign — a near-unanimous, unprecedented moral stand against a sitting president.

Dayton and SLU tied 0-0 also in St. Louis back at the beginning of Ocdtober. One of Dayton's impressive 7 ties on the season!
SLU beats Davidson 1-0 to move on to the final of the A-10 men's soccer tournament. Billikens will face Dayton at Hermann Stadium on Sunday at noon

Other than Trump himself, Larry Summers is the least surprising person to be involved with Epstein.
Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

They're always trying stuff with the YouTube algorithm. A couple of months ago, they were showing me all kinds of videos from small creators. Now they're showing me all these huge ones.

I prefered it before.

Dayton men's soccer has reached the A10 finals! Let's see if they can match the women by taking home the title!

Oh my god. Please UMass. Northern Illinois is 2-7.

The same people think Curtis Yarvin is a genius philosopher and political theorist and that Peter Thiel isn't just a confused vampire. Striking for sure, but not at all surprising.
honestly one of the most striking things about epstein's emails is the fact that the man, described in many places as "a genius," is essentially subliterate

I don't think St. Joe's is pulling this one out.

Okay, well, regardless of how this Dayton game ends, it's not going to be too bad of a basketball night.
November 12, 2025 at 2:02 AM
Well, this is a normal AG team. No quit in them whatsoever, but long offensive droughts caused by (in my opinion) personnel issues more than offensive system.

I'm looking forward to another year of this frustration.

So I am finally reading No Life Forsaken. The early game Iskaral Pust monologue didn't really sound like him to me?

He was rambly and had a mule and blames everything on Mogora, so I knew it was him, but just felt a little off.

Malazan, but since that's too broad, let's just go with onboard the Silanda because that place seems horrifying.
Name your fav fictional setting.

Dayton still kind of sort of in this game despite shooting a scintillating 25% from the field and 8% from three.

Saved by 14 UC turnovers and awful free throw shooting.

Almost inevitable that Dayton will shoot better in the second half, but not expecting it to be enough.

This might be Dayton's identity this season, bad offense and defense. Just one game, but this is about where I thought they'd be this season.
November 12, 2025 at 12:49 AM
Oof, looking like a repeat of last season early in Cincinnati. Dayton down 10 early.

Everything I've read about IU is just gettin worse and worse.
Indiana University removed a Lecturer from her "Diversity, Human Rights, and Social Justice" course after a student filed a complaint about a graphic the instructor showed in class, which included "Make America Great Again" as an example of "Covert White Supremacy."

It's fun when you got to bed with a headache and wake up with it exactly the same.

To be fair to Elon Musk, reading any book on even an okay sized dose of ketamine really isn't going to happen.

Are you any recreational drugs good for drinking? Based on the ones I've had, I'm thinking no.

I can read pretty happily through about four glasses of Jameson, but that's about it.

Boohoo. It's a circular firing squad when we do the exact opposite of what our voters want us to do.
It’s wild to suggest this is a circular firing squad or something when it’s millions of citizen Democrats who hate it versus 47 elected Democrats who conspired to surrender for nothing.

We’re not fighting “each other,” we’re fighting you. There’s only a few dozen of you, but you hold all the power.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

I think it's about time to send Yang Hansen to the G League. Getting him a handful of minutes a game doesn't seem helpful for his development.

Jesus. Just disappear in embarrassment with whatever tatters of dignity you have remaining.
Democratic Senator Shaheen says ending the shutdown wasn't a failure because it achieves a later vote that will get Republicans on the record.

"Americans...are gonna know who's on their side and who is not."
November 11, 2025 at 1:23 AM
If you claim that your favorite writer is Homer or Virgil or Euripides or some shit, I'm just going to call you a liar.

(Unless you're an antiquities scholar, but I'll still look upon you with suspicion even then)
November 11, 2025 at 12:54 AM
I don't personally believe she's the dumbest person alive, so I'm thinking I'm not going to buy that one.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"
November 10, 2025 at 3:26 PM
Oh god. Now we've got the senators going on TV saying the dumbest shit imaginable to justify their cowardice.

Might have to sequester myself to my non-political feeds for 24 hours.
