I suppose these days it actually matters to clarify that my opinions are not necessarily that of my employer.
Did the thing where you sick in your own mouth a little bit.

I have an 80 minute rail connection in Leeds. I've never been to Leeds. Anybody know what I can do in the general vicinity of the station for about an hour in Leeds?

Not to go all boomer-y on you all, but I remember when Britain was a country where people put the small trollies and the big trollies in their own separate lines in the collection point rather than just throwing them in there randomly into a shambles.

I'm such an idiot.

I always, always find a way to get out of having to dress up for parties. This one, 8 years ago, was "dress as a tube station" theme.

Friends fear he may have found a new, extremely niche form of music to get into.

This job ad is currently doing the rounds in local FB groups and I desperately need recruiters to understand that "customer-focused with a proactive sales mindset" is not a way that any actual human being thinks about or describes themselves.

Anybody else ever eat so many salt and vinegar crisps in one sitting that they acid burn their tongue or is this a uniquely Paul experience?

Honestly since I started work in Parliament I have never felt less in touch with what's going on in the world of politics. Reeves has an expenses scandal now? Literally hadn't noticed, been too busy.

Assisted Dying controversy? Farmers protests? Work is going to be an echo of November this month isn't it.

Chiefs just got annihilated in all three phases by a better team today. Congratulations to the Eagles, a well-deserved Super Bowl win.

Agree. Watching the Bills get embarrassed like this would have been much more fun than my own team.
This shoulda been the Bills.

I kind of have to be here because this is where my friends are now but I'm still so uncomfortable about having every post public.

Not sure disenfranchising conscientious objectors is something I'd personally choose to highlight.
The 1918 Reform Act gave 8 million women the vote & an additional 5 million men.

It tripled the electorate, disfranchised conscientious objectors & came within hours of abolishing First Past the Post.

Its forging out of the horrors of war is an amazing story, that deserves to be much better known.
#OTD 1918, The Representation of the People Act received royal assent.

The Act gave the parliamentary vote to some women for the first time as well as millions of previously excluded working men.

Sitting and observing for a bit, I'm honestly not sure Bluesky is less toxic than Twitter was. It's less right wing, but that's not the same question.
