You would probably say the same about a film @ramaeker.bsky.social .

You can criticize Ansel Elgort, and fair enough, but Rachel Zegler is every bit as dull.

The Scottish Sunday Herald TV guide featured this preview of the Trump inauguration.

It’s fucking brilliant.

Beautiful. What a wonderful spontaneous display.
Something nicer:

Collective grief has manifested in such an outpouring of love. What a wonderful thing to witness.

I was there for myself, but also felt like I was there for the folks who would be there if they could. Fresh outta cherry pie as expected 💚

Word of mouth still bests social media: all the time I spend on these platforms still didn’t adequately advertise the excellence of Ludwig. A friend did.

Finally catching up with the Roald Dahl Wes Anderson shorts on Netflix. Dev Patel is just spectacular.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t see a way to bookmark things on here. In the long term, when more producers of video content migrate here, I’ll miss that feature.

Currently reading this rather excellent book, and in conjunction rewatching the first Iron Man. It makes my head hurt to think how much I wish they’d already cast Don Cheadle in place of the blazingly mediocre Terence Howard.

So, yesterday I saw Megalopolis and Deadpool Vs Wolverine. One of them left me feeling like truly I’d seen a piece of Cinema. The other only made me laugh in the post-credits scene of Chris Evans lapsing into his Boston accent when saying “gargling Juggernaut’s juggernuts.”

Megalopolis, 47:19- Adam Driver and Nathalie Emmanuel are each just exactly who FFC needed them to be, but Aubrey Plaza gives the smartest performance by far.

Back on D vs W: take a look at Ryan Reynolds’s acting from 16:00 to 16:03, and tell me he isn’t capable of drama.
Or I mean, just watch Smokin’ Aces.

I take my fourth break from my first viewing of Megalopolis. It requires its own criteria. Ironically, perhaps, that could also be said of the film I’m alternating chunks of it with: Deadpool versus Wolverine. They have, let’s say, different attitudes to *weight.*
