Have spent a good chunk of yesterday and today breaking my washing machine down into its component parts, to ascertain whether it was repairable or not.
Reader, it's fucked.

Incredible that, even if you repeatedly reject any and all offers of AI assistance EVERY TIME YOU OPEN ANY APP, it never learns that you're never going to use it and stops bothering. Demonstrates a real lack of intelligence, if you ask me...

Ok. They’ve pissed me off.

I’m back to tell you 3 things about ID cards:

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

No lie, this is a cracking read/listen. Fabulous writing
Robin’s reading of The Diary of Lies is superb. Audiobooks are so important and he reads it beautifully.
And I thoroughly enjoyed doing so! 👏🧡

Theft. Facilitated by #ScotRail, a publicly-owned company...
BBC reports that voice actor Gayanne Potter has had her voice cloned by Al without her consent, and the model is being used as the new announcer voice of ScotRail. She is currently battling for it to be taken down.

Really enjoyable read. Particularly if, like me and the taxi driver in the article, the name Pringle featured heavily in your youth!
My brilliant godmother and trailblazer Lesley Rankin has just left us. I wanted to share this beautiful recollection of her involvement with Pringle that was published a few years ago. She was beautiful, kind and a perfect godmother. www.wallpaper.com/fashion/prin...

I'm likely being naive here but it seems to me that if a country wants to pursue isolationism, then...isolate them.

For theatre artists and freelancers, disability welfare cuts will erode career sustainability, self-esteem and quality of life.

You can write to your MPs via theyworkforyou.com to state the negative impact the cuts will have.

You know what I’d call for if I was prime minister - more funding of youth clubs , extracurricular activities, and mental health support - but showing a film looks like concern while costing very little

This. All of this.
A lot will be made, and rightly, of the consequences of this for the industry here in terms of the future - but at the risk of stating the obvious, River City is also a vital employer of a vast and varied and experienced workforce right here and now.

Aside from, very relevant, arguement about the representation of ordinary Scots on our screens, this is the crux of the matter. The BBC can choose to focus on "Shetland", "Vigil" and "The Rig" but none of those are possible without River City. It is a vital part of Scotland's screen industry.
Powerfully shit news about River City, and my heart goes out to all my pals affected by it - continuing drama is part of the eco system that means we can make ‘high-impact drama series’, and I’m massively concerned about the short sightedness of decisions like these www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Fascinating that none of the mainstream media have really picked up on Trump's comments about Greenland. I mean, a smirking sideways look, while saying, "...one way or another, we're gonna get it." is...pretty tyrannical stuff.
