Hello! Some more about me:
* MFA in 2024
* Plan to publish my debut in 2025
* Series in four different fantasy sub-genres live in my brain. So much to write, so little time!
* I support fellow writers. We are not competition; we all benefit by helping each other. The world needs more great stories.

Weight loss plateaus suck. I'm glad to have lost 20 pounds, but I'm tired of being at the same weight for weeks despite my best efforts. I've got 30 more to go and would love to lose them all by Spring.

I deleted Hearthstone from all my devices over a month ago and haven’t played since then, but the new set they recently released has me jonesing to resinstall the game which means there’s only one thing to do: WRITE MORE!

Well, if I can’t sleep, at least I can celebrate that I advanced to Round 2 in the NYCMidnight Rhyming Story Challenge!

New genre, emotion, and theme coming on Thursday, and I’ll have 3 days to write a 500-word story that rhymes. Wish me luck!

Actions like this is how we end this ICE bullshit. Non-compliance everywhere. The more of us who refuse to go along, the less power they have.

Remember, the government is supposed to serve us, the American people.
The energy we need is this suburban dad standing out in the street -- barefoot with Blackhawks pajama pants on -- screaming at the masked goons to get the fuck out of their neighborhood.

I know it can feel futile to contact your GOP reps in Congress but MTG has already defected on the subsidies. There’s space to push. Tell them your life depends on these subsidies. Tell them to protect the ACA and open the government.
This is why Republicans shutdown the government. Because they refuse to extend the ACA subsidies that expire at the end of the year. With open enrollment starting at Nov 1, marketplace insurers can no longer wait to publish rates. With alt text.

Republican governors apparently forget that peaceful assembly is protected by the Constitution they all claim to love.
Republican Governors are calling out the National Guard for the No Kings protests even though the last ones were peaceful. Contrast that with Trump who instigated a mob that attacked the Capitol and refused to call out the National Guard and then pardoned the traitors involved.

This morning I realized I’ve spent about 25 to 30 hours playing Hearthstone just this month. After weeping for all the words that didn’t get written and the editing that didn’t get done, I deleted the game and all its data from all my devices. Again.

Anything getting in the way of your writing?

A reader contacted me to let me know that my short story “Storm Patrol” transported him and he hopes I’ll write more in that world.

Best. Feeling. Ever. 😁😁😁

I sold another short story! I can’t wait to tell you all more. 😀

TFW you easily cut 10% out of that short story you swore you couldn't make any tighter just a week ago. It's amazing what a little distance can do for your clarity and objectivity regarding a piece of writing.

After my big push this week, I think it’s time for a day or two off from pretty much everything. Gonna enjoy the crisp morning air, the sunshine, my coffee, and a book. Might take a long walk later.

It took way more time and energy today than I expected, but my latest short story is out the door to an anthology open call. The story ended up being very different from what I imagined when I started writing it, but it was a very fun experience. Fingers crossed!

TFW you're planning out the final movement of the story and suddenly realize it's become a metaphor for suicide.

I don't want to write a metaphor for suicide. Welp, time to rethink some key elements of this narrative and bend the arc in a more hopeful direction.

I thought I could finish two stories on a weekend I’d also booked a getaway with my wife. I finished one but can’t finish the other by the deadline. I beat myself up over it for a while, but I made peace with the fact that I overcommitted myself. There will be other chances to use that second story.

Submitted my first round story for NYCMidnight's #RhymingStoryChallenge. That was a ton of fun. Fingers crossed I make it to the next round, but I'm looking forward to getting feedback no matter what. Now to finish that short story I'm writing for Monday's submission deadline!

SUPER excited to share that I have a short story coming out in an anthology this month!

In "Storm Patrol", a newly-bonded gryphon rider must deal with her judgmental mount, her reckless older sister, and a magical thunderstorm -- all at the same time.

Releasing Sep 15 on most major platforms!

I rediscovered the power of writing sprints this week. In three hours across two evenings, I added ~3250 words to the story I'm working on. There's something freeing about the timer, the focus, the accountability. The words need heavy editing, but that's so much easier now that they're on the page!

Trying a local breakfast place as I write this morning. Looks awesome to me! Maybe it will inspire awesome words.
