Anyway, donate to charities if you can. I support quite a few. But really, every charity is just a govt failure, especially in a world where we give the richest 10% $18bn a year in tax breaks for capital gains

Well and truly into my nostalgia era with live music.
Last night, Jess Cornelius - first discovered in 2008, first saw live (as Teeth & Tongue) at Falls Festival in 2009. Genuinely grateful to have the opportunity to support artists over multiple decades.

Premium: The AI Bubble's promises are impossible. NVIDIA's customers are running out of money, GPUs die in 3-5 years, most 1GW data centers will never get built, and OpenAI's Abilene data center doesn't won't have the power it needs before 2028 - if it ever does.

The AI Bubble's Impossible Promises

I’ve seen a few variations of this making the rounds. I like this one best.

I don’t know who the original artist is but thank you to them.

I'd love to see Tasmania in the AFL. But there's a lot of footy people blithely dismissing the considerable objections to the insistence on a new stadium as part of the deal without bothering to understand them. They should definitely read this piece.
Tasmania in crisis over billion-dollar AFL stadium
The Tasmanian Liberal government is in crisis and a snap election likely to be called as the premier clings to plans for a stadium that will bankrupt the state.

25 years ago today, “American Skin (41 Shots)” debuted in Atlanta — towards the end of the Reunion Tour — in response to the tragic killing of Amadou Diallo. It has since been performed in dedication to other victims of brutality, including Trayvon Martin and George Floyd.

How great to live in a world where the eccentricities of Björk and her work have been so celebrated. Cornucopia felt like everything coming together. Intricate yet explosive - sonically and visually.

Disappointed to not have a chance to see her live since 2008 but that was the next best thing.
