Things that aren't antisemitic but feel antisemitic:
* my neighbors baking bread during pesach
* recipes for sourdough showing up on my feed during pesach
* other people eating chametz pizza during pesach

why do people over the age of 40 get so much anxiety when there isn't yet a Zoom link to a meeting that's happening DAYS from now

annual reminder that having family that does celebrate Christmas and being with them today doesn't make you any less Jewish.
Happy Hanukkah!

The story of Joseph teaches us that any hate--even a "benign" hate like sibling rivalry--when left to fester, can lead to horrifying violence and cruelty.

May this Shabbat soften our hearts and strengthen our resolve to bring all of our sisters and brothers out of bondage to freedom.

I should send an apology to all of my former therapists... it turns out that going on walks actually is good for my mental health and they weren't just gaslighting me

wife to me after I got bad fertility news: I am holding space for your sadness

me: good, because all of the space I am holding is being taken up by the lyrics of Defying Gravity

While I am not particularly optimistic about the jihadist rebels offering stability for the people of Syria and the region.... It's hard not to feel some hope with the Syrian people at the overthrow of a brutal dictator. Whatever comes next for Syria, Assad the butcher will not be missed.

My standard lecture on antisemitism includes a section on philosemites whose "love" for Jews, if you can call it that, extends about as far as it takes for them to use us for their own purposes, then either forcibly convert or murder us.

Sounds about par for the course with the Heritage Foundation.
SCOOP: The Heritage Foundation’s 'Project Esther,' a conservative plan to counter antisemitism, sees the problem as one in which a handful of “masterminds” including Jews like George Soros are seeking to “dismantle Western democracies, values and culture,” according to internal Heritage documents.

A presentation meant to win supporters for the Heritage Foundation’s plan to fight antisemitism draws a line from George Soros to pro-Palestinian protests.

Wife just woke me up for a trivial reason (something was waking a weird noise) by saying loudly "there's a problem."

Now she's sound asleep while my anxiety from being awoken like that will keep me up all night.
