Tomorrow we will read of Jacob's trickery against Esau, who is identified with Edom. Esau also receives a blessing from his father, but a lesser one.
I pray that this Shabbat will bring us closer to the days when all the children of this land will be blessed in equal measure, with peace.

Thanksgiving looks a little different this year--mostly because it was just me and wifey and we celebrated last Shabbat--but no matter how far I am away, the people who matter most always feel close when I'm making the Thanksgiving foods I grew up on.

Thanksgiving looks a little different this year--mostly because it was just me and wifey and we celebrated last Shabbat--but no matter how far I am away, the people who matter most always feel close when I'm making the Thanksgiving foods I grew up on.
