This coming Tuesday November the 18th @seattleparks.bsky.social is hearing ideas for the fenced off Lake City Mini Park. I know it is early to hope for a lot from #thedreamteamelect but I am hoping at least one of them sees this opportunity. engageseattleparks.com/lake-city-mi...

King County is BIG. It's not just Seattle. And even though The Stranger thought it was so clever to endorse Zahilay "a hair" (and thus make a bald joke) I don't think Zahilay is the right choice.

I'm voting for @claudiaforkcexec.bsky.social

Sorry about the delay in voting, y'all. Also: Forgot to take a picture of my ballot, but I am shameless stealing from @celticwnb.bsky.social because yes - let's fucking do this.
@wilsonforseattle.bsky.social @alexis4seattle.bsky.social @linforseattle.bsky.social -- AND THE CRUCIAL -- DIONNE FOSTER!

Yep. This.
We are about to go from "It's always DNS" to "It's always AWS US-East-1" #NotTheFirstNorTheLast
October 20, 2025 at 6:53 PM
Okay. This one made me snort. #awsoutage #us-east-1
October 20, 2025 at 6:52 PM
Okay ... Okay... I saw someone pleading for actual updates.

Here's my hunch as someone who knows nothing...

I would have put money on DynamoDB and/or DNS as those have been culprits in the past and I never liked those shifty services.

However, I honestly think this is a bigger issue. 🧵

Best explanation so far #awsoutage #aws #dynamodb #dns #itsalwaysdns

It feels both cruel and poetic that I found out Stephen Colbert was being canceled from the sound of a Fox News segment echoing from the next room.

I was sitting with my beloved aunt and uncle, here in Mitchell, South Dakota.

My uncle is a wise man who worked in soil conservation his whole life.

If we’re lucky, Colbert is about to have a year-long DGAF era. The man’s off the leash. What are they gonna do, cancel him?
Stephen Colbert's program was the top-rated network late-night show though Q2 2025, casting considerable doubt on Paramount's claim that the cancelation was a "financial decision."

Coincidentally, here's a clip of a segment that aired just before Paramount's decision:

Seems like the right time to share this wonderful moment again, now with subtitles and some context at the beginning about what they were talking about before Jeff Goldblum shared a George Bernard Shaw quote with Stephen Colbert.

For all healthy persons — those with no risk factors for severe Covid-19 — between the ages of 6 months and 64 years, the FDA anticipates the need for randomized, controlled trial data evaluating clinical outcomes before Biologics License Applications can be granted.

Fuckity fuck fuck fuck.

This article links to the @nejm.org post from the FDA. It seems they want to go back to the "at risk only" folks & experiment on the "healthy" folks.

Am I crazy? Is this NOT as fucked as I think it is?

The Senate has just voted to pass the GENIUS Act, despite little in the way of amendments incorporating Democrats’ demanded changes.
Worth noting that this is far from a decisive win. This bill will be back, and soon.

Still can't believe Eddie Lin admitted he backed Prop 1B, a do-nothing option crafted to confuse voters & prevent funding for affordable housing that lost by 27%. (Adonis Ducksworth won't share how he voted so yeah he did too). They're both running to represent a district that voted like this:
