Did you know your MacBook has a sensor that knows the exact angle of the screen hinge?

It’s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.

Schweizer KI-Interessierte sollten Apertus unbedingt testen. Das kann man beispielsweise an den AI Weeks.

A HISTORIC MILESTONE: For the first time, solar power generated more electricity globally than nuclear, making it the world’s 4th largest power source.

In just 5 years, solar output nearly tripled—from 79 TWh (Apr 2020) to 233 TWh (Apr 2025). The energy transition is speeding up.

Very good write up by @hughhowey.com (author of Wool/Silo) about the current state of insanity fuled by hypocrisy and paranoia. Truely a bad mix of ingredients.

"You’ve reached your limit on 2.5 Pro (experimental) until 5:20 PM."

Gemini 2.5 Pro is indeed really good but the rate limit is quite frustrating. Especially when you want to find out where the new version has improved.

What a truely captivating and insightful conversation. Rivian is pritty much what the promise of Tesla was a few years ago. Let's hope RJ Scaringe he can stay true to his course and start in Europe soon with the affordable R2 model.

Canvas (same as Claude) and Audio Overviews are two actually really useful features that have just come to Gemini. The first one helps to actually work on something until it's just right and see all edits in realtime. The other helps to deep dive into a topic by listening to a custom podcast. Nice!

One high quality, superbly written Star Wars movie (in lenght) release per week for four weeks in a row. This is going to be a crazy month indeed!
I'm highlighting the info because it's at the bottom of my thread.

Season 2 fully embraces the format of the first and goes further by airing a 3 episode arc per week!

We'll be treated to the equivalent of one (probably awesome) Star Wars movie a week, for a month. 🤯

Every time I realize that human eyes are right in the middle of the face, it makes everything seem super weird. I think it’s the presence of hair that makes them seem higher up on the face than halfway.

It's doing pretty significant numbers for what it is, so while I understand sharing it won't make a difference for those knee-deep in the cult of personality, I'd say it has a better-than-average chance of resonating.

Very insightful look at 'algorithmic complacency'. It isn’t just shaping what we see - it’s shaping how we think. At least Bluesky is more of a solution here then the actual problem... But it very much depends on how it is used.
