Kids were sick, the terrain system I wrote wasn't good enough, scope with chunks too big. Lost motivation.
Today said to myself: screw it, use a small map, and Unity's Terrain System.
It's actually gotten pretty nice now and I immediately got my motivation back after being able to quickly do stuff 🥹

Almost one week without writing code? Nah! I figured I need better looking terrain (than just the flat plane) and I will need some kind of chunk system. So let's write one, why not. I mean, I already did that some months ago 👨‍💻

Just finished the latest Atomic Heart DLC and I'm in love! Everything is so well made! And the reunion with Katya is so wholesome. It feels they are preparing for Atomic Heart 2, and yet it's "just" the last DLC.

🧌 Colors are fine, I guess. Bevels have some scaling issue on some cubes. Not sure about the eyes. Let me animate it first, I think it will change a lot 🫠 #gamedev

Hey @raphlife.bsky.social would you consider making a behind the scenes video of how e.g. you create a new map for TLD? So concept and design, implementation in Unity, testing etc. 🫠

Got a solid plan for the prototype now. I identified the individual key parts of the gameplay loop and will implement those over the coming weeks.
