Paralegal, dork, cat lady, Providence person. Jokes and opinions are my own and are definitely not legal advice.
Primary every single mother fucker who thinks Cryptkeeper Carville knows one single thing about what to do in this moment. I've been seeing this shit from RI pols on the timeline all day. Notably, nary a person of color is telling you to listen to this garbage.
This column is titled “Out With Woke. In With Rage. There’s no reason for Carville to say anything about “woke” except as a signal to other white centrists that it’s ok to move left, but still leave Black people behind just like the New Deal did after the Great Depression.

Imagine if Chuck Shumer was this brave. . . .
This is extraordinary. Judge Wolf’s resignation is the clarion call every American needs to hear and heed

Yes, I am so pleased that the DNC ousted David Hogg for trying to break up the gerontocracy and daring to suggest primary ing the Olds. /s
The last eight members of Congress to have died in office were Democrats, with seven of them being over the age of 70 with significant health concerns. https://trib.al/vidWAAb

Okay, but like, who among your constituents asked you to go to this instead of voting against tariffs? What did you accomplish at this summit that's more important than standing up to this administration's lawless ruining of **gestures broadly**. I am so incredibly, wildly angry at RI's Senators.
Circled is the entire U.S. delegation to this global oceans summit, founded by the United States, usually attended by a dozen or more senior U.S. officials. USA AWOL.

The pro-natalists are really doing it huh? Like, even if you invest that $5k baby bonus, it’s not gonna be enough to pay the lawyers when your baby gets deported in two years. In this economy? Pssht

It’s because of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals
Why is it that they keep taking all of these students from the northeast to Louisiana?

What is it about that facility that makes it the preferred detention center compared to the other ones throughout the U.S.?
NEW—After a day of uncertainty on where agents took Tufts student Rumeysa Ozturk, she appears to be in a Louisiana facility.

1400+ miles from Somerville, Massachusetts, where she was taken.

A judge ordered to not take her out of state without 48 hour notice. She was detained last night.

Why isn’t this the message? The President and the richest man in history throwing the full weight of the US government against a US state to bully two teenaged girls. Instead the feckless Dems are like “gosh, should we discriminate MORE? Is that what went wrong? Trans folks must be the problem!”

Says my senator, Climate Guy. You know, who voted to confirm Duffy (Fuel-Economy-Reg-Killing Guy) and Burgum (Big Oil Guy). Spines of Foam indeed.

Shouldn't it be the reps who voted FOR this piece of junk bill who are defending THEIR votes? I'm proud of Amo and Magaziner for this.

Shame on @whitehouse.senate.gov, @reed.senate.gov, and @magaziner.house.gov! You didn't have to capitulate to anti-trans animus. Rhode Islanders didn't send y'all to Washington to help the hate-fueled GOP persecute our neighbors. Trans folks deserve better. Thanks to Rep @amo.house.gov for his vote!
Senator Reed gets a big bipartisan majority on the $884 billion defense bill, but also another RI/MA split

Sens. Reed + Whitehouse voted yes

Sens. Warren + Markey voted no

House delegation also split: Rep. Magaziner voted yes; Reps. Amo, Auchincloss and Keating all voted no
U.S. Senate voted 85-14 to pass 2025 Nat’l Defense Authorization Act. This bill strengthens America’s economic, industrial, & military might. It invests in our servicemembers, will help increase pay for uniformed personnel & civilian workers, and makes America safer & stronger.

I'm mostly a lurker, but since I'm not a total creep, here are some belated photos of my cat General's birthday party. He's 15 -- clearly too old for wilding out -- so we just got dressed up on the couch. Percy's gift to his big brother was to not bite his mom (me) when she put on the outfits.
