Climate change is shrinking snowpack in many places, study shows.

Europe & North America are getting some of the biggest spring snowpack losses. For water supply, as warming accelerates, the snowpack change is going to accelerate at an even much faster rate.

U.S. cut climate pollution in 2023, but not fast enough to limit global warming.

U.S. emissions declined 1.9% in 2023, but emissions had plunged more than 11% during the COVID-19 pandemic. Science is clear, more policies are needed to curtail expansion of fossil fuels.

Why are 1,500 Americans still dying from COVID every week?

While high, these COVID death figures are still lower than the high of 25,974 deaths recorded the week ending Jan. 9, 2021.

But in 2024, 1,500 patients dying every week is unacceptable.

Here is why immunizations are important.

Chicken pox comes back as shingles.

CMV comes back as severe colitis.

HPV comes back as cancer.

EBV increasingly looks like it comes back as MS.

What is SARS CoV-2 coming back as? We know it sequesters in all sorts of tissues.

Socks, food, and the ocean—they all have one thing in common: microplastics.

To tackle the microplastic pollution problem, researchers and policy experts from the Aquarium and @mbarinews.bsky.social created an open-source library to help researchers trace microplastics back to their source.

Thank you TODAY for covering the current COVID surge. I really appreciate so many sharing the COVID wastewater charts! It shows that, contrary to the cynical narrative of "pandemic fatigue," many still care & want to know the data so they can protect their communities.

COVID still rages, and the Biden administration isn’t helping.

Wastewater data indicate that the JN.1 variant of COVID-19 is infecting about 2 million Americans every day, making this surge second in prevalence only to Omicron variant.

This is a key part of the piece on COVID. Take note, shamefully some people in the media, politics, and even public health are saying people don't need to pay attention to the rise in COVID transmission happening now, even as we are in the second-biggest surge of the pandemic.

There are more workers than ever with a disability due to Long COVID (and increasing remote work).

Economists estimate Long COVID has kept 4 million+ out of work in the US, and costs the economy at least $3.7 trillion.

You can't fight for worker justice if you ignore COVID.
