Clean energy is cheaper, healthier and just as reliable as fossil fuels. We don’t need coal - or oil and gas - for long. The lie of “energy dominance” only benefits the few at our expense.

To put this loan amount in perspective:

California is spending $500 million to widen a 10-mile stretch of Highway 37 in the northern Bay Area (through a wetland, no less).

But $750 million to save the *entire* Bay Area’s transit systems is apparently infeasible.
We’ve been informed by the Governor’s Department of Finance that it won’t agree before our legislative session ends (on Friday) to finalize a $750M bridge loan to Bay Area transit.

This loan was agreed to in our June budget. Without it, BART, Muni, et al will cut service.🧵

@schumer.senate.gov Your argument that a shutdown would be worse makes no sense. If that's what the White House wants, absolute power during a shutdown, why aren't Republicans voting to shut it down?

Yes @gavinnewsom.bsky.social , that and what your doing to protect us from the consequences.
Personally I would like @gavinnewsom.bsky.social to use his podcast to discuss what federal cuts will do to California’s schools, parks, businesses, and research institutions—and how he hopes to mitigate.

I know this is going to sound naive or earnest, but I genuinely find myself shocked by how little people seem to be upset by the levels of corruption we're seeing. Is that the median voter assumes everyone is corrupt already? Or isn't actually getting stories about the corruption?

@sammyroth.bsky.social Thanks for your work on electricity rates. Matt Stoller has an interesting Substack piece on how privately owned utilities are using regulatory tricks to gain rate increases. I hope you'll look at this: www.thebignewsletter.com/p/power-move...

Thank you, Representative Simon. Americans in every congressional district will be hurt.
Yesterday, I voted against the Republican budget resolution, here's what it would do to residents of my district AND the residents of Speaker Johnson's district.

Republicans are stripping away health care from tens of thousands of children and seniors.

The story of this first week is corruption. Billionaires seated on the inaugural stage in front of the cabinet, crypto pump and dump, and the illegal firing of IGs. The media is acting like this is too chaotic and bewildering to interpret, but they are just afraid of sounding shrill. It’s corrupt.
