It’s pretty remarkable just how thoroughly Target got its shit wrecked for the anti-DEI stuff

I think my baby may believe that the asl sign for “milk” is actually just my name. To him, I’m just Milk

Just finished The Husbands by Holly Gramazio and realized that stories about mundane life w a surprise portal to the multiverse may be my favorite genre when I need a break from political news. See also: Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi & The Midnight Library by Matt Haig #booksky

You know those days when you look at your baby and feel your heart grow two sizes bigger? ❤️❤️❤️

The people telling us the crashing economy is a much-needed “reset” are the same ones who said horse dewormer cures COVID and the SA Offender-in-Chief would uncover a massive pedo ring among Democratic leaders in DC

The richest man in the world spent more money than most of us will see in our lifetimes to lose a state Supreme Court race by 10 points.

And the fact his $25 million was a drop in the bucket compared to what he's spent on other elections is exactly why we must overturn Citizens United.

I blame the devaluing of expertise for our current predicament. People believe simply having access to the internet makes them as knowledgeable as professionals in journalism, medicine, science, economics, etc. and that any formal education/experience is meaningless. We’re cooked.

I don’t have the bandwidth to deal with yt women fretting in my face about the state of this country bc feeling unprotected and constantly exhausted from the onslaught is already so familiar to me and it’s so aggravating that you’ve never realized that

Sometimes I feel drawn to the idea of church for building community during these trying times. Then I consider the fact that a lot of Christians are cheering on billionaires defunding programs that aid the poor to fund tax cuts for the rich.

Leaving a children’s birthday party, my husband was genuinely confused why there were so much traffic. We have an infant so he literally forgot that people go outside on Saturday nights.

I want to find my people here: older moms of young children but NOT the mommy bloggers- just regular regular tired ass mommas- especially working moms- who love our babies and also fantasize about taking a nap

I have a rare day off tomorrow and I’d normally bask in my solitude with a delightful, peaceful stroll around Target. HOWEVER, that was in the Before times. Now I gotta question why I ever felt like shopping was meditative. It’s not easy but I’m working on deprogramming my overconsumption.

February is over but I still have no intention of shopping at Target, Walmart or Amazon. This ain’t over.

I’m living vicariously through those of y’all who can go outside, cuz I’m in the depths of early parenting, constantly juggling sick babies 😩

Target chose a moment when the concept of overconsumption is resonating with its very diverse consumer base to declare that we are not welcome there. Ok, girl.

As a mom to an infant, it is currently impossible for me to set aside hours to read a book for myself, but audiobooks are keeping me sane right now.

Friendly reminder: he did/said something horrifying today. He’s gonna do more awful shit tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that. This is won’t change, whether you read every headline or not. This is what America wanted. They chose this. So let’s, you and I, talk about something else.

Now accepting suggestions for how to make my preschooler’s wash day less stressful. Her natural hair is super long and dense. I usually avoid applying heat and the whole detangling/braiding process is long and miserable for us both. 😩
