Historians, keeping records of wrongs since 430 BCE. My hubby will save your life & I'll teach you history.

Historian, professor, trophy wife, owned by 6 cats, probably canning, blue dot in a red state, 💜 fountain pen ink, & reader of books.

So tired of seeing people tout that we should support Black/LGBT/women owned businesses in light of the DEI rollbacks, but no mention of disabled owned businesses.

Drop your fav disabled owned business below, or your own!

My fav is @bibicosplays.bsky.social! Her stuff is amazing! www.bibipins.com

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this.

Smashed records.

Today I enjoyed cats, being warm while it's frigid out, did more faith deconstruction, and watch birds and squirrels eat from the bird feeder (the squirrel feed arrived today). Graded papers. Considered home decorations that I'll probably not do. Hung out on Zoom with friends. Good day.

Christmas miracle: The cat we thought we'd lose is coming home (alive). Not sure how long she has left but as long as she wants to stay this side of the rainbow, we'll help her (with quality of life being important).

At the emergency vet to make the final decision if we're putting our cat down tonight (she's been here for a week). The neurological damage prevents her from standing & using the litter. We're having to wait because there's 6 emergencies ahead of us. Though I understand, it's a painful wait.

I'd take faceless administrators more seriously when they offered to help if they used my correct name & title in addressing me. In a professional setting, one should take 2 secs to confirm whether a faculty member has a PhD. If they can't pay attention to that, why trust them w/other issues?

I'm the type of person that if I'm being thrown under the bus I'm taking others with me. I'm a historian, keeping records of wrong & knowing how to effectively spill the tea is what we do.

Pissed at the way universities enable racist behavior with its "students as consumers" model of education. I'm tired of faceless administrators who never experience teaching telling me how to run a classroom. They fail to understand they need me more than I need them.

This is supposedly about why young women are so opposed to populist parties. It’s actually about why young men like Farage. We spend a lot of time analyzing young men’s preferences. But very little assessing WHY young women have become sharply progressive www.politicshome.com/thehouse/art...
Why are young women so unlikely to support Reform?
Why young men seem to be drifting towards Reform has been a major talking point in recent weeks. But less attention has been paid to the role young...

Before yesterday, every time I saw a cybertruck it or I was in motion. Looked kind of ridiculous each time. Yesterday saw one in the airport parking lot - whole new level of ugly when parked. My first car was ugly but at least it was a charming sort of ugly.

I must admit, I missed the feel of northern California, especially after living in Missouri. I went to UC Davis for my Masters & beginning of PhD work, so it's a touch of nostalgia, but I'd argue it's also knowing the people around me most likely voted for Harris. Warmer temperatures help, too
