One must leave main roads to reach Avery Island. There are a couple of reasons to do so: the Tabasco factory/museum, and the vast bird sanctuary begun about 1895 to protect egrets and other species. (Acrylic, 11"x14"x1.5" on wood panel). #acrylicpainting #averyisland #tabasco #bird #paintlouisiana

On average <5.5 inches long & <8.5 grams, the Brown Creeper is easy to miss as it darts up and down trees - though an absolute delight to see one and hear its song. 🪶 #birds #nature #photography
