This is exactly right. It's time to stop treating New York times like it's still legitimate.
NYT is toxic because people defend it, pretend its long ago forfeited reputation is relevant, take it seriously as objective source of information when in fact it’s more dangerous than Fox. Everyone knows Fox has an anti-democratic agenda. People fool themselves and others that NYT doesn’t have one.
I will no doubt read and enjoy all your very good Nuzzi jokes, but I also want to say earnestly, so many of us (myself included) are on the verge of being pushed out of this industry and it's genuinely so dispiriting to see the worst among us, ethics-wise, get such preferential treatment.

I'm really loving the first several episodes of the @dadventurous.bsky.social podcast that I've been listening to with my daughters. My kids must love it, too, as my 4 year old was pleading for a dadventurous bedtime story to my wife who had no idea what that meant.

These Tesla robotaxi ride videos are indistinguishable from satire. Waiting 30 minutes for a ride that takes 10, countless Waymos passing by, filling the time with wildly misinformed commentary, then getting dropped in the middle of the street, where the car gets stuck.

I haven’t seen Hannity get rocked this hard on his own show in a long time. His producers were playing the exit music for so long trying to signal he should get out of there. Too good.

provocative gesture that resembled a different provocative gesture is about as cowardly a construction you could cough up to avoid sounding . . . provocative
Steve Bannon whipped up the CPAC crowd by talking about the possibility of Trump staying in office for a third term—and concluded his speech by giving a provocative gesture that resembled the controversial salute Elon Musk gave at a post-inauguration rally last month.
Steve Bannon Mimics Elon Musk’s VERY Controversial Salute
The president himself has suggested the idea of staying in office many times since moving back into the White House.

I feel so sick. Enough with the lies, enough with the games. They know exactly what they're doing.

This is a neo-Nazi movement. Proudly so. The only reason they've kept it coded up until now was to take advantage of those who didn't want to believe it.

No more looking away. Face up to what it is.

If Bluesky is going to do some sort of verification checkmark thing, maybe make it “this is actually a trustworthy source of factual info,” rather than “they showed us their ID and use their real name, so this grifty conspiracy theorist gets the same stamp of approval as authoritative sources.”
sure it's a coincidence that now that the seth abramsons show up here now people are clamoring for a status badge

It is hard to counter this combo of cynicism and lying without bonafide candidates who can throw a punch.

If we want to beat a right wing that weaponizes (justified!) public anger at Big Pharma to destroy the social safety net + spread conspiracies, we can’t run Dems who take money from Big Pharma.
