Fastest growing group among the homeless in Australia is women over 55. They are driven to it by a lifetime of putting other people’s needs ahead of their own right to earn an income. Something they were told to do from birth & as women are still told to do.
In my upcoming book, I show that, beginning in the 1980s, framing homelessness as a problem of mental illness and addiction was politically engineered to obscure the socioeconomic roots of the crisis and to justify the removal of homeless people from public space.

Hanson-Young paid tribute to Plibersek as “an environment minister who was willing to talk and try and negotiate…But sadly…we have not been able to land an agreement, because it seems the miners and the loggers in this place have more influence than the environment minister”.

This little fella flew into my sliding glass doors and stunned himself. Currently resting in a cardboard box with some water accessible. Hope the little man is ok? I say man, cos a female wouldn't be stupid enough to fly into a glass door 😉

Still flabbergasted over the deputy Liberal party leader so casually saying supporting the ongoing genocide in Gaza was necessary to ensure an ongoing relationship with the United States. Essentially that the deaths of thousands of children is OK because it'll make the US happy.
