But Venezuelan oil is gritty, takes a high level of expertise to refine. The government spending ballooned while their economic output was crippled. Chavez could keep it together because of the *gag* charisma. But once he died, Maduro has had to keep it together with guns and bribed. He’s stretched

Well a major part of the problem is ineptitude. Chavez first like 18,000 oil workers in twenty years ago and Venezuelas oil output reduced from like 2-3 million barrels a year, to the hundreds of thousands. Meanwhile they kept buying more industry in an attempt to detach from foreign money.

From my perspective, all Venezuela really needs to rebuild is peace and freedom. Maduro is desperate and he’s having to buy-off the various military leaders with gold mines and what not. Maduro’s allies were Castro and Putin. Neither is of use now. So he’s basically holding the country hostage.

Doug Jones vs Tommy Tuberville is a matchup I’d contribute to handily. I went to HS in Huntsville and it’s booming with liberal transplants and now the largest city in the state. AL is ripe for a change.
