Optics are everything. If Americans see that a few thousand jobs were created per month under Trump (or we lost jobs) versus tens or hundreds of thousands per month under Biden, Trump will be seen as a failure.

So basically we live in a nation where a lie, any lie no matter how outrageous or disproven, can give this government an excuse to interfere in elections. Tell me how we survive this?

If the Editorial Board truly represents what is left of the storied WaPo, let it die, it’s not worth saving. I first fell in love with news & publishing visiting my mom’s childhood home in Springfield, VA and sitting down with my grandpa to read through the Post together. Such a tragic loss.
