Maybe instead of fixating on the price of eggs, politicians should have been strategizing how to address H5N1 to maintain the supply of eggs. Wonder what happens to the price of eggs when the shelves are empty.

this is depressing. what a sad world we live in.
My view of the world changed when I learned how to interpret statistics and probability in my early 30s... This is what separates data-driven science from personal intuition. Imagine how today's children could see the world if we teach them how to read and understand statistics at a younger age.

Very bad news late last week from CDC about maternal mortality in the USA - it continues to go up. The leading cause of death for #pregnant people in 2020 and 2021 was infectious diseases, especially #COVID.
