These people meaning leftists.
Its crazy how these people were at Harris' party, drinking and eating and complaining that the party should be more like jill Stein's party next door and when you're like "then maybe you should go to that party?" they're like "aha, so you agree, this party sucks?"

"It was Harris' job to convince voters that Trump would do the things he said he would do, that he also did in his first term. Voters just aren't smart enough to realize that. But they are smart enough to know that Harris didn't have the exact right position on [my policy preference]."

The fact that trump "isn't that popular" but still President of the US for the second time should scare the shit out of you, not be cause for hope.
Trump is a paper tiger, he is not popular.

I feel much of the state of the world can be explained if you realize there are many people who only understand things in terms of personal relationships and are literally incapable of seeing the big picture, or intentionally avoid doing so, believing it's bad for them or weak.

Watergate was not nearly as bad. Compared to Trump Nixon was pretty harmless.
There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

I don't see charlie kirk's death as that violence inciting because we're already in such a violent place in this country that it's going to be hard to point to any particular event and say "this is why."

What's weird is it sounds like this took Trump by surprise, which speaks to how stupid this all is.
South Korea’s president said a massive US immigration raid on a Hyundai-LG battery factory site was "bewildering" and could have a chilling effect on investment.

South Korean companies "can't help but question whether setting up a plant in the US is worth the potential risks"

Weird how mainstream Kirk was which is part of what makes this so divisive. Like, he should not have been as famous as he was. That's part of the tragedy too. Charlie Kirk shouldn't have been an influencer. In a different age he would have an honorable (and longer) life with a real job.

This generation is so stupid. We deserve what's coming to us.

This can't be true. I was told Biden and Trump were the same on Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that his new plan to expand the war in Gaza and target the remaining Hamas strongholds in the Palestinian territory was "the best way to end the war," defying growing calls to stop the fighting.

Look, we quite literally tried "we're going to unfuck your lead pipes and give you fiber optic internet and manufacturing jobs" and they venerated Ashlii Babbit and voted in Reality Show Fascism; you can only blame systemic issues for so much but you have to reckon with these people having agency

People in the comments think this headline makes Trump look good when in fact its poking fun of Trump for being weak.

There will no be American troops on the ground in Iran. Trump will back down. Eventually. There may be more airstrikes but regime change is not in the cards. Netanyahu and the hawk right will try their darndest tho. But Trump just doesn't have the stomach for it.

I doubt Iran will actually fracture the MAGA coalition. More likely, they’ll come around to support whatever Trump ends up doing.

I think this because that’s what’s happened every time internal disagreements arise. Cult of personality and shared hatred wins out.

But I don’t really know. We’ll see.

If the usa went to war with Iran, Trump would not lose any popularity. Republican voters were plenty pro war when Bush was doing it. They aren't pro-war or anti-war. They simply do and feel what the news they watch tells them.

Your now-regular reminder that no tax cut has ever paid for itself.

Ever
CBO just estimated the macrodynamic impact on the cost of the GOP bill - i.e., "is this bill going to help the economy so much that it pays for itself?"

CBO said that the bill pays for just 3.5% of itself - w/ a tiny upfront economic boost that declines over time. Legitimately embarrassing for Rs.

So uh....things seem pretty chaotic. I'm having second thoughts about this Trump guy 😂

We have the tools to fix this obvious crisis but refuse to use them. You can really relate to Moses telling Pharoah to just free the Jews and end the plagues on his country. But Republicans and American businessmen will always think they're greater than God.

US coasts face a crisis as land sinks and seas rise
Seas are forecast to rise from 8 inches to 23 inches along the nation’s coasts by 2050. But risks extend well past the shoreline.

They say it can’t be done, but here we are, California is generated 106% of California’s entire state electricity demand from renewables.

California has a population bigger that 154 other countries around the world. It’s the 4th largest economy, in the world.

Let that sink in.

Its kinda rich that more than a few people who enthusiastically supported Trump thought they were the "right" kind of immigrant.
In the days of grief after his wife's miscarriage in 2015, Kasper Erikson forgot to submit an immigration form.

The Mississippi father thought he was on the verge of becoming a citizen when ICE arrested him in April.

Now he’s in a Louisiana prison, facing deportation over the 10-year-old mistake.

If Joe Biden said this kind of word salad on "Meet The Press," I imagine it would be a major story. And this is one of his more coherent responses in an interview transcript that has to be read to be believed. (Link to complete interview in next post.)/1

The most unsatisfying thing is, no matter what happens, the large majority of fools who voted for Trump and who will pay the price for it will never blame him, nor the party that enabled him, nor the news media that lied to them everyday about him. They'll be indigant if anything.
