NOTHING is functionally sustainable as long as Citizens United stands. It allows those at the top to have a disproportionate influence in our government, which affects everything in our lives, from our healthcare, education, transportation, safety, basic human rights, as well as the economy.
I like to remind people of this fact. Before 1950, my great grandfather lost eleven children, including 3 sets of twins, before they reached the age of 12. Vaccines work.

In Charlotte, the local news interviewed a woman (with 80s hair & a Midwest accent) who drove two hours, supposedly from Boone, NC, to show support for ICE. She brought them donuts & claimed this cruelty is what she voted for, 3 times. Her name is Renee White, and she doxxed herself.

Another win for Citizens United tonight. Don’t kid yourself into thinking big donors’ fingers weren’t all over this. The Hateful 8 were merely sacrificial lambs for the others in the party who were feeling the squeeze.

Am I so old that I can’t remember there was a time before Google? I was searching for a picture of the hospital where my daughter was born in 1996, and none exists. Am I only imagining there was a St Francis’s Women’s Hospital in Greenville, SC, or was she in fact the result of an alien abduction?

Dick Cheney’s legacy is that he turned 9/11 from a national tragedy into a global disaster. He did so through a mixture of arrogance, stupidity and greed and blighted the last quarter century.

Not terribly impressed with her "accomplishments". A Master's from Liberty U is not very impressive. I have worked with people with degrees from Liberty, and I am not exaggerating when I tell you that I would be surprised if they can read. Not kidding.

I made a reservation at a 2-star Michelin rated restaurant this weekend, and, having no menu, didn’t realize the cost until the bill was presented to us. I tried to defend it to my husband as art, talent, well-earned, blah, blah.

Republicans know how to market themselves to get people to vote against their best interests. If Democrats just TRY, they could win. The message can’t be an attack on Republican’s, specifically Trump’s, values. They see it an attack on them personally. Dems need to show them what they can offer.

Why is there an Emoluments Clause if there is no formal procedure for enforcing it? It’s like sitting a bag of gold on a table with no one watching it, and when it’s stolen, there’s no one to report the crime to. Maybe, as a lawmaker, do something about changing this.
The level of kleptocratic corruption in this regime is breathtaking, e.g.:

Republicans are agents of chaos. Make no mistake, they are intentionally tanking the economy in order to profit from its collapse and restructure. They’ve done a form of this with developing nations for years. Now they’ve set their sites on the ultimate prize.
If the tariffs haven’t already hurt consumers enough, small businesses who provide healthcare to their employees will either need to raise prices, stop paying for their insurance, or close their doors. This will affect us all.

Americans don’t give a damn until it happens to them. Van Jones made a good point on Real Time last night. Had the Democrats held off on the shutdown, and let the cuts & rate hikes go through, people would start feeling the pain right in time for the midterms, and every Republican would be replaced.
