We’re in the middle of an authoritarian takeover and the one political scientist the press is listening to is Robert Fucking Putnam?

The FEC is named specifically:

Few things irritate me more than someone asking for time on your agenda so they can get stakeholder feedback only to find out they didn’t actually want feedback, they just wanted to check a box.

My original point: The only way for the president to enforce impoundment against a determined Congress that fights back is by going further and spending unappropriated funds. And at that point he would be full Roman emperor "the Senate is just ceremonial."

"No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law ..."
- U.S. Const., Art. I, sec. 9, cl. 7.
Just the <checks notes> Chair of the House Appropriations Committee going on the record to say that appropriations statutes “are not a law.”

The United States Congress, ladies and gentlemen.

As of today, the Dallas Cowboys have longest NFC Championship drought in the NFL, at 30 years. And you see the funny thing about that is literally everything.

No, they're not caught between anything. Stop it. The fact that AI may be used or useful in future jobs does not create a single dilemma at all for college students in how to actually complete their coursework. This is all nonsense & excuses for not doing the reading & learning how to think & write.
College students caught between professors' AI bans and employers' growing demand for AI skills
Research shows 75% of workers now use artificial intelligence on the job, yet many universities still classify its use as cheating.

It's weird how I haven't seen any AI products that do the work of upper corporate management or college administrators....you'd think that the most expensive links in the chain would be where AI would be most cost effective...hm, this must just be an oversight that will be remedied soon.

I think of these races every time people say their vote doesn’t matter. This is pretty normal in the Central Valley.

“In 2022, YouGov asked “What percentage of Americans do you think are ___?”

The results were hilarious.

Trans: 21%
Muslim: 27%
Jewish: 30%
Black: 41%
Live in NYC: 30%
Gay or lesbian: 30%

The errors are off by orders of magnitude. The trans estimation by 2,000%.”
