The House E&C markup had lots of talk of how the bill will protect #Medicaid coverage for kids. But here's another cut to children's coverage along with rescinding rules increasing child enrollment and work requirements reducing parents coverage that will lead to lower enrollment among kids (8/x).

The latest reconciliation bill language out today expands the scope/harm, now penalizing any expansion state that has adopted the ICHIA option for legal immigrant kids/pregnant women. That's another 19 states who would have to increase their expansion spending or drop the ICHIA coverage (5/x).

With Illinois reporting that it can't access its federal #Medicaid funding accounts this morning, reminder that states have a statutory entitlement to their federal Medicaid funding, on top of the fact that freezing federal funding is unconstitutional and also violates the Impoundment Control Act.
