good question. i think my positive nature is way of BRAIN WIRING first, but also i have realized that art and expression thrives on gratitude AS WELL AS supports and grows gratitude in a feedback loop. once you start using it as fuel it will build, and i have been tapping into it for many years
I always appreciate your enthusiasm even if I don't always share it. Do you find that it's spontaneous or do you work at it? I work hard on my own attitude towards life bc I am not inherently grateful. I am grateful for all the people I get to love & know about but I can't say I'd consent to existin

During his first term, Donald Trump was the first president in history to un-protect a protected area, allowing fishing in Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Monument.

A fishermen spoke at the event and said "we don't even really fish there, but we're angry that we're not allowed to fish there!"

I have a PhD in copyright. I hate the current state of copyright law. We should burn it to the ground and start from scratch. This is not an uncommon view.

But the "start from scratch" matters - what we have is broken, but nothing would be worse.

Because of parasites like Jack and Elon.

Everything is profoundly stupid. Like. So stupid, oh my god.

So, here's my proposal. Come have a beer with me tomorrow at tattooed mom's and make some street art about it.

We'll be focusing on climate change action messaging!

I have SO many paint pens. Come paint with me.

Been having a blast putting together a guide for others at my lab looking to do some larval fish identification. It is very specific to the species we get. I’ve also done a 22 year data pull to give folks an idea of the historic species presence.

Science is under assault because Trumpists are illegally purging labs, deleting data, and censoring research. This is actual fascism. It’s not “cuts”.

Don’t normalize what they are doing.

So far today has involved enormous blueberry pancakes, a gathering of scientists (and their supporters) angry enough to leave the lab and get loud 💜, and the acquisition of a salmon head for $1.50 to try oxidation skeleton articulation on. And the day isn’t even over yet!

Approaching 700 people RSVP’d for this which is more people than I have ever convinced to go to anything. Wild.

Ran slides past 2 other street artists and they gave it the stamp of approval. We call that peer review.
People are not getting the messages they need the most. As our government information systems (CDC, NOAA) get dismantled, this is getting worse.

Truth doesn't have a marketing budget, so spreading those messages is up to us.

ONE solution to this, is street art.
