Today, I spoke with Kilmar Abrego Garcia and his wife, Jennifer. In April, when I met with him in El Salvador, Trump said he would never set foot in the U.S. again.

This case has never been about one man alone; if the govt can violate the constitutional rights of one, all our rights are threatened.

centrists and conservatives will always do 'no not like that.' the green new deal was to address concerns about making transition politically acceptable, while spreading costs and benefits equitably, and the response was 'why is all this non-green stuff in there'
This right here, this exact sentence, is THE problem in American political journalism.

The IRA *was* cheap energy and good jobs! That was the whole bill! Democrats did precisely what political pundits are telling them to do and the pundits just ignore it.

Here’s the leadership change we need: we need Leader Jeffries to be replaced by SPEAKER Jeffries, to check the Trump administration’s wanton destruction and end the madness. Any effort not targeted to that goal is a waste at best and a harm at worst.

The fight going on in the Democratic Party right now is not between hard left, left and moderate. It’s between those who want to fight and those who want to cave. And Team Fight stretches across all ideological aspects of the Party. Misread this at your own peril.

All the pundits spending time on Dems’ message on trans sports could maybe use a little of their power and platform to talk about how vile this is.
We've confirmed the US Bureau of Prisons has transferred trans women to men's prisons despite three court rulings blocking Trump's executive order

“I’m continuing to be punished for existing. I'm a pawn in others' political games" -Whitney, 31-year-old woman taken to men's prison this week, told us

the problem with the "trans sports participation is a loser / 80-20 issue" framing is that it ignores how it got that way. it didn't just happen out of nowhere. It's been a 5+ year campaign by Republicans to make it an 80-20 issue, and noone fought back.

Rubio terminated 5800 USAID contracts – more than 90% of its foreign aid programs – in defiance of the courts.

Here’s a list of just some of the lifesaving awards that were terminated. Nearly all were Congressionally mandated. They’ve saved millions of lives. 🧵

I know the material reasons for the rise of fascism. I also think another reason - which doesn’t get talked about as much because it’s embarrassing that humans can be that naive - is that when you are financially comfortable but bored, abstract cruelty can give you a sense of purpose.

the next generation of democratic leadership needs to combine a steely-eyed puritanism with righteous hatred. new model army dems.
The simple fact is that senior Democrats still--*still*, at this late stage--believe that Trump is essentially mostly bluster and that all of this will eventually blow over and we'll be back to business as usual. They do not comprehend how serious this moment is.

One more thing about this piece of bullsophistry by Barnett and Wurman on birthright citizenship.

To the framers of the 14th Amendment, people who had, by bad actions, failed of allegiance, obedience, and amity were not a hypothetical problem. *There were hundreds of thousands of them.*
