Sort of retired from working in research. Interested in research ethics and research on child protection, child safeguarding, child maltreatment. Looking forward to positive conversations about democracy. 🫘 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Made some ciabatta for first time. Probably needed a bit more fermentation, but still lively paired with the olive oil (extra virgin 0.3%) that we helped harvest.

#breadsky Although I haven’t posted for a while, I have been busy baking. Here are three jalepeno/cheese sourdough boules I made for my husband’s birthday party. Earlier in the week I experimented with chorizo/cheese - that may become the new favourite.

#breadsky Looking for suggestions for a jalapeño-cheddar cheese bread that isn’t an ‘easy’ or ‘no knead’ recipe. I actually like the process of making bread.

I have just spent a profoundly sad morning at Auschwitz Birkenau. It was even more poignant considering the what is being threatened in the US right now. We need to continue to resist.

Women of a certain age - ever had a pharmacist mansplain how you should put an estradiol patch on when you tell him the new brand they gave you just doesn’t stick to you? Did I mention he also suggested that it should go on my arm?

Evidence based programmes are great, but they don’t always replicate or scale effectively.

Alongside programmes, we need find other flexible and creative ways to scale evidence-based practice. Common elements approaches can help with this. This is a great short explainer.
