Today's Gardening Advice: It's that time of year again. Fake/AI generated/manipulated color images of plants are arriving. Blue/black/multi-colored flowers/leaves are extremely rare in nature. None of these are real. These samples are from a major online retailer. 🌱

Favorite hybridizers: Arthur Bliss. 'Dominion' from 1917 is legendary in the iris world. One of the first tetraploids and behind most TBs today. This iris changed everything. Sadly it is a poor grower and hard to find. Beautiful flower when it is happy tho. 🌱

Garden birding. A Dunnock amongst the Crocuses, and a male Chaffinch. Chaffinch numbers have been low this winter, and it's the first winter for many years that I've not seen a Blackcap in the garden - last winter there was at least one most days, often 2, and even 4 one day! #londonbirds #birds
