Iraq/Afghanistan is like the magnum opus for me. I want 12 two hour+ episodes about the whole fuckin thing. I want Daniel Craig interviews w/ southern accent and peter coyote describing fucked up shit and I want Al Qaeda and Taliban to tell us about the fucked up shit the US Army did.
I figure Ken Burns has one, maybe two big documentary series in him before he fully retires. What do you think they should be? My votes include Football, Hip-Hop, World War 1, Reconstruction (though Skip Gates did this one well), Iraq/Afghanistan, 19th Century Expansionism.

I like when games have random, totally useless immersive game mechanics. GTA 4 where you could be a taxi driver. Virtually every shenmue game.

For Arc Raiders to ride the wave of human sociability all the way to the bank, while also being so contemptuous of the thing that makes us social animals in its own workflow demonstrates a lack of artistic integrity that I find impossible to ignore.

On like a conceptual level, discrimination of any kind (today I'm thinking about trans folk) still does not make sense to me, and sort of baffles me as a train of thought for people to have.

i used to think turning a comment section off on YT was wild but damn it was 2000 IQ play cause mfers will do anything and everything to be hateful about victimless opinions.
any dream i had of "making it" on the internet was quashed the second I saw how people easily pancake waffle a situation and arrive at 30 made up reasons on why you're terrible based on something you never said.

it's wild to me to see zoomers & younger millennials talking about the tv show Girls with just-now-watching-it reverence (esp the ones who are not white women) bc that show was SO heavily criticized at the time for being regressive in terms of gender, class, not depicting nyc as racially diverse etc
