Letter in today’s @theguardian.com from me and 34 other health and care professionals on the assisted dying panels.

Unfortunately they have cut 33 signatories - including social workers, psychiatrists, geriatricians.

Everyone should see this. Dr Kathryn Mannix’s book is a wonder and gave my terminally ill mum the tools to plan her leaving of this world, and the chance to mother us one last time by reading us passages and helping us face reality. I will be forever grateful.
I'm new here.
My TED talk might help explain what I do.
This talk was at TEDx Newcastle 2022, & chosen by TED for their homepage - amazing.
I've had such heartfelt feedback from people helped by hearing this forgotten wisdom.

Welcome Clare! I’ve learnt so much from Clare about Advance Care Planning, much needed for the Planning Ahead sessions we run with palliative patients in our Hospice Wellbeing Centre.

Hello everyone from this battlescarred doc from the other place. For those who don't know me, I'm an author, journalist & and palliative care doctor who stands up for patients, evidence & candour in healthcare & politics alike. I love books, otters & other people - who are, fundamentally, good 💚

Just a little background, if you don’t know my work… ‘When Beasts Spoke’ is a collection of illustrated thoughts from the animal’s perspective. Contemplations on anything from mindfulness, self-love, or gratitude, to observations on the little things and the joys of nature. And I paint the animals ☺️
