World PhysBones just got released in open beta (SDK 3.9.1) !
To test that new component, I made a door that works without any Udon code, and it was relatively easy to setup. Functionalities are very similar to avatar PhysBones, bones can be pushed and grabbed #VRChat

Unity has issued a security advisory for all games built with Unity 2017 or higher.

VRChat is not affected in any practically abusable way per our current analysis. Just to be sure, we're shipping a patch that includes the Unity-provided fix.

to get a little personal, one of the reasons i'm glad i'm no longer in the games industry is that i found it difficult to not take statements like "the dev team doesn't care" or "they clearly actually hate this game" personally

nobody loves this game more than we do. nobody cared more than us.
I guarantee you devs care

Even if the game ended up a trainwreck because of corporate mismanagement, people working on it cared deeply and tried to make the best possible game given the circumstances

If I get to be a transport nerd for one train only, it's gotta be the Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line). It's so cute! And it makes fun "ding" noises when it accelerates! Oji, the mid station, has a nice park too.

My father-in-law is a builder. He is insanely gifted. We were looking at a Rockwell Automation Retro Encabulator years ago and I asked him what it would cost to build today. I will never forget his answer...

Light Volumes v.2.0.0 released!
Now it has Light Volume based super optimized analytical Point Lights, Spot Lights and Area Lights. (Up to 128 at the same time)
Ability to project images and cubemaps.
Also baked shadow masks and even more features!

Some really jank math going on behind the scenes here, but it seems I got L1 (i.e. directionality) from LTCGI screens working via Light Volumes. Also does shadowing when baked right. It's an additive volume now.

Little workflow tutorial for something that has saved me many times already: Automatic disk snapshots on Windows! 💾 Allows you to get files from the last few days, with just a bit of disk usage overhead. Not a backup! Assumes Windows 10 or 11. YMMV 🧵 1/X
