I think a broadway L/subway line would be good, especially since there really isn't room for much of the line to build bus lanes
Check out this 1923 transit plan commissioned by the Chicago City Council. We use to be insanely ambitious. A network like this would've supported Paris-level population densities.

It's never too late!

Love the enthusiasm but light rail on NDLSD is kind of silly. A dedicated higher-speed, limited-stop busway is the better transit solution for the Drive.
It is very heartening to see Alderman Lawson advocating for LIGHT RAIL on lake shore drive in the 2025 Lakeview community plan!

Seems like the CTA has started sponsoring traffic update spots on WBBM...but the first one I heard of them sponsoring was actually the orange line being fucked up. Nice going guys.

The new owners of my parent's house (I grew up in it) took down the water oak that provides shade across the entire front yard. They're going to learn why that tree is there when Atlanta's summer heat hits them. IIRC the tree is older than the house and spared the saw when the neighborhood was built

One thing I've gotten good at is finding holes in definitions. My latest accomplishment:

If you say Illinois is landlocked, your definition of landlocked probably also includes Italy.

What's the smallest city and/or metro area with a major sports team? If I had to guess it'd be Green bay with 107k city and 320k metro population.

Upon further inspection, two things:
1. Some of the locations listed on their website for online ordering are actually closed
2. There are seemingly locations in the new york and philly areas that are open, but aren't on boson markets online ordering system

Per reviews, food is dry and not good.

From what I can tell there's only 10 Boston markets left in the US, with 4 of them in Philly, 2 in the Philly burbs (1 of which is in NJ), 1 in Buffalo, 1 in Newark (the other one), 1 in Cleveland's burbs, and finally one in Chicago's burbs (Melrose park).

I might have to make a pilgrimage.

Fun fact: there are 158 train numbers reused by Metra across different lines. Seemingly the biggest "offender" is the Metra electric. While most of these trains with shares numbers operate at different time, some overlap (sometimes completely).

This has made my life hell as a developer.

Seems like ORD's traffic growth has held steady, while DEN's shrinkage is slowing (but is still shrinkage), and DFW is shrinking faster. These are comparisons of the YTD numbers with the same ones last year.

(I'm waiting on the DoA to respond to my FOIA request with september data)

Word about the snow has definitely gotten around. In the 15 minutes ive been at the store, the number of people here has quadrupled. Went from 0 checkout lines to 2-3 minute waits at every line.

Occasionally I remember that Shady Maple is "only" a 2.5 hour trip from downtown philly and the next time I'm on the east coast I'd love to day trip out to Lancaster and make a trip to the buffet
