I wonder how much of the "AI-As-Placeholder" came about because of the managers/CEO who have game-dev aphantasia and think grey boxes look bad.
In gamedev, if you're using a placeholder asset, best practices involve marking it as placeholder so garishly and offensively clearly PLACEHOLDER that you can't possibly miss it. Also flagging that asset in the dev process so it can be identified quickly before the final build.

The strategic use of "[sic]" feels important in these times when reporting on interviewees that are so self-absorbed and childish.

I guess you can desync objects in shipbreakers when you're using your grapple gun. Grabbed an airlock that was cut loose, took it up out and over the ship until I had a clear LOS to the barge and hit push. It spawned a spark in nothing and the rest of the ship just blew itself apart somehow.
