As the European Union seeks to make Dublin enforce the bloc's environmental law, the cheap, smoky fuel peat has become a focus for opposition to policies that some people criticize as designed by wealthy urbanites with little knowledge of rural reality reut.rs/4kMwOJA
On Ireland’s peat bogs, climate action clashes with tradition
Bog destruction major contributor to Irish carbon emissions as EU says 'insufficient action' is happening to protect unique habitats. But locals defend traditional fuel harvesting. Rural dwellers say left behind by green agenda.

The city of LA has removed three of our crosswalks in the past two weeks amid a budget crisis. We're now getting requests to put in crosswalks that were planned and committed to by LADOT, then rescinded for lack of funds ... where is the money for removals coming from?
As I noted a couple years ago in CityLab, cities that rush to remove guerrilla sidewalks end up reinforcing activists' claims.

Local agencies clearly *can* quickly adjust street designs -- they just choose not to.
The Case for Guerrilla Crosswalks
Activists are painting unsanctioned DIY crosswalks at intersections in cities like Seattle and LA. Transportation officials should understand why.

When Dems emphasized Abrego Garcia's plight, Trump's approval went down on immigration.

It turns out that hammering the evil things your opponents are doing can actually shift public opinion. You don't have to chase it like a weathervane.

I love the imagery, but it is ballsy to roll a Sherman over a Fascicar that is basically a rolling mine. What if the Tesla had caught fire?

No matter how many times we say Fox News isn’t real news, it doesn’t matter—because their viewers believe it is.

Watch: It shows exactly how they’re screwing all of us—you & me—because we’re stuck dealing with people who fall for disinformation. And their own viewers, because they believe the lies.

If you have to repeatedly break the law to arrest those you claim have broken the law, you’re not enforcing the law.

ICE has morphed into a terrorizing Gestapo-like goon squad.

They must be held accountable.

It’s called the Digital Equity Act. That word—“equity”—caught the White House’s attention. So now Trump is moving to nix funding—but it could cut off millions destined for red America.
