sorta related, at one point a colleague told me about the concept 'communal narcissist' (someone who projects a not fully sincere pro-social disposition for very self-interested reasons) and so much of my experience in higher ed and NGOs made sense

obviously the now cadaverous CEO will be replaced -likely by some greater ghoul- IF this was the political killing those of us UHC has fucked over (and over and over) might find at least cathartic, the point was probably not to actually disrupt the operation of UHC, right?

Mainstream (ie non-academic) discussions of American history don’t get into it quite so much, but bombings were quite common, and assassinations, while not openly discussed, remain relatively common.
