During a nice sunny afternoon stroll through New Brighton today, I photographed this great mural artwork on the side of Master Mariner Bar by artist Adam Brez of Captain Mike Lowe, the youngest Master on the Birkenhead Ferries when he was 28 in 1962 @yoliverpool.bsky.social @daveyph.bsky.social

Oh.
RIP Paddy.
Thanks for the many lunchtimes.
Paddy Byrne died yesterday. The creative catalyst behind the Everyman Bistro and then the Pen Factory. The Bistro was a cultural oasis that served great food, drink and music. The salad bar in the 2nd room was something to behold in Liverpool in the 80s. Vale Paddy.

The ‘Star of Hope’ and ‘Atlantic’ Shipwrecks
In addition to the Ancient Footprints on the beach near Formby, more history can occasionally be found a little further along the coast, near Ainsdale. Two of the many shipwrecks that have foundered on the Sefton Coast, which occasionally becoming visible. I booked on a guided walk to view the 'Star of Hope' and the 'Atlantic', as the constantly shifting sand had briefly uncovered their skeletons, which normally sit submerged for long periods of time.
