How do you raise a $2B seed round in July then need another $5B by November? I don’t see how startups like this can survive in the long run given the massive capital needed to compete with FAANG on AI infrastructure.

They need multiple breakthroughs in costs considering compute and power needs.

most of the AI companies are also massively wealthy and profitable hypercorps, but OpenAI specifically is a bomb planted at the heart of the American stock market helpfully labeled "this is a bomb"

pnpm v10.16.0 adds "minimumReleaseAge", a setting for defining how long a version has to have been published before pnpm will install it.

A nice countermeasure against accidental installs of short-lived compromised packages before they get taken down. Not a 100% fix, but a great additional step!

OpenAI just told investors it now expects to spend $115B before breaking even by 2029, up from $35B.

The jump comes from soaring AI training costs and competition for AI talent. $20B will be set aside for stock-based compensation alone this decade.

Welcome to the AI talent wars.

Funny how we force engineers to write ADRs for every trade‑off, yet billion‑dollar strategic bets live in hallway whispers and fluffy slide decks.

What if we treated business decisions like architecture? Context, options, trade‑offs, metrics, all in a repo, version‑controlled and reviewed?

I think this is important for the media to get right versus making it seem like ChatGPT can replace a human.

Generative AI, like the internet and smartphones before it, won’t just change work or entertainment, it will reshape society.

No one foresaw Trump rising through social media or how phones would rewire culture. AI will spark shifts just as deep and just as unpredictable.

How should we prepare?
