So this is Bluesky. Seems like a good place to be right now.
This applies to many other situations as well. There is strength in community.

I call this the real world because long after the catastrophe of our failed government, the outcry, the violence and the horror, there will be wild turkeys. There will be trees, and snow, and the harsh beauty of winter. Life will go on, creatures will search for food, nature will endure.
Large flock of wild turkeys in the front yard today, clustering around the crabapples.

Keep on truckin' my friends.
Hope is not naive. It knows the depth of pain, the feeling of being lost in the world. But it still chooses life, a new beginning, tomorrow. And confidence is the inner knowing that every night ends, that every winter brings spring, and that even from the deepest wounds, new light can emerge.

How long before AI falls on its face for not only under-performing, but being a genuine menace to individuals' mental health?
❌ A/I can’t replace real skills
❌ A/I can’t stop crime before it happens

✅ A/I is plagiaring creatives
✅ A/I is moderated by underpaid traumatized workers
✅ A/I can give you psychosis

Even the mega-MAGA flags are crashing down around him.
Here's a front page image for papers all over the world.

The White House flag on the ground and a worn out old liar who's been exposed and knows that he's running out of time.

Welcome to the United States in the early hours of November 17th, 2025.

Meanwhile, back in the real world...
It’s getting dark & the rest of the flock has gone up into the woods to roost for the night, but these diehards are still scratching under the snow for insects & worms.

And now for something completely different.
The apothecary of the Hôtel-Dieu in Baugé founded in 1650 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph. It is one of the oldest and best preserved apothecaries in France.

Having studied both religious traditions and seen these "Buddhist" guides to management success on our library's shelves, I have facepalmed repeatedly with the utter incongruity of it. Corporate capitalism is the utter contradiction of monastic teachings.
Well said, my friend.
Niche issue, but…

I’m really tired of people who lived in a monastery (Christian or Buddhist) for…like…6 months…and now are writing books, building apps and giving TEDTalks about how to use “monastic wisdom” to become CEOs.

I don’t think you were paying attention during those 6 months.

What terrifies me about AI isn't the mythological Singularity. What terrifies me is that chatbots are being marketed in such a way that a growing number of people relate better to them than to real human beings, to the point of being talked into suicide by them.
In spite of that, here's a cat.

I am not myself a religious person, but I have deep respect for those whom faith inspires to do good work, to speak for the silenced, to stand for justice.
