I figured out what I don't like about the phrase: "Do you want to be in relationship, or do you want to be right?" And it's this: I want to be in relationships where it is the *default understanding* that conflict is not an existential threat to the relationship.

This is the third time recently I've been on an @amtrak.com car with no AC. HELP! #146. It's swampy.

I won't swear I got caught in the rain yesterday, but after lunch I noted a yellow mustard stain on my habit. It's gone now.

In DC for the Episcopal Tri-History conference. The only way I could make it work was the overnight train, so I was anticipating peak misery right about now, but the Hotel let me check in! Nap before conference? Yes! www.trihistory.org

My top cassock button fell off and went missing. But look what I found in my button box! It's the right size, so I rather think it WAS cassock button in it's last life.

Pro-tip. A bulletin to notate a monotoned Lord's prayer that drops a third at the last syllable, abbreviate from near the beginning to near the end, because why write out a million of the same pitch. However, even if you don't want to dictate which version people use, this is not the way:

Its owner, the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey, has stated unequivocally that the property is not for sale.”

I had forgotten this! My photo memories served this up today from 3 years ago when @gregory.havenreligious.org and I were trying to suss out what you would/could do if you did EVERYTHING. Obviously, there are a million versions, but this is our theory (3 years ago) of a maximalist daily office.

🕯️ Bilinguals of the Narthex! Do you have good bilingual worship paradigms or examples? For this purpose, WHAT the languages are isn't that important to me, but have you found really smooth workable ways for primary or monolingual speakers of 2 languages to worship together at the same time?

There is literally no circumstance when I pay more attention to pronunciation than when I ask at the hardware store where I might find caulk.

🕯️ okay, alb + amice wearers: is there a good system for storing? I currently roll my amices on a cardboard tube like we do fair linens, etc, but the strings are a nuisance. And I'd really like a solution where I can pair them, like one hanger that would hold an alb and an amice. Thoughts?

🕯️🕯️ Heather Cox Richardson this morning: "Notably, the tariffs will hit toys and Christmas items. China produces 80% of the toys sold in the U.S. and 90% of the Christmas goods."

Does your church have a Christmas Toy drive? Might be worth starting early...

I think somehow Virginia Woolf forsaw the current state of (at least some corners of) the Internet:

"We are nauseated by the sight of trivial personalities decomposing in the eternity of print."
