• about 580,000 km² below the 2010s mean
• about 1,150,000 km² below the 2000s mean
• about 1,500,000 km² below the 1990s mean

Permafrost thaw will cause billions of dollars of damage to Arctic infrastructure. Roads (like this roller coaster due to frost heave), buildings, runways, coastlines. Delay at our own peril.

Bryozoans transported to the Great Lakes: We've found large numbers of statoblasts of 11 species (incl nonnative/cryptogenic spp) in ballast tanks of ships visiting the Great Lakes.
