I know there’s a lot going on, but consider signing this petition to ask Libby to add patron requests back to their app. It helps both patrons and librarian selectors. chng.it/gTFXgbH4Yg

It’s always a small group that want power and control.
What’s been noted before has been confirmed yet again:

There is no widespread concern about the books kids have access to in public libraries.

It’d just a small group of people who feel everyone else’s rights end where their morality begins.

IMLS funding is used in Indiana to support INSPIRE databases for all citizens, Libby ebooks and audiobooks through the Indiana Digital Library consortium, and a lot of other collective services. It is the opposite of waste and inefficiency. Sent this to my reps.

I think every library should stop posting on X and remove links to X from their websites. I’m working on getting my library to do it.

Another embarrassing Indiana politician. Proud the librarians did the right thing.
Staff from Indiana Rep. Messmer’s D.C. office called the library and asked the director to call the police when constituents, most of them seniors, expressed frustration at his office’s refusal to meet with more than one member of the public at a time. Nope.

The sad part is I think a lot of folks in Indiana want this. They want the Feds and Fed dollars out of the state and when they start experiencing the consequences they will blame someone else.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

1. Google Gulf of Mexico
2. Click on the 3 little dots to the right of "Gulf of America"
3. "Send Feedback"
4. Click on "Gulf Of America" text
5. Select "Inaccurate content"
6. Select "Incorrect" & type "The rest of the world calls it Gulf of Mexico" or what I wrote👇

As an Aquarius I’m going to stay away from learning to pour water while nude this season. Likely a bad skill to learn in the winter anyway.
According to medieval astrology, Aquarius season is a bad time for learning new skills. [4/4]
