Can I interest either of you in a gently-used Tristan Jarry?

Pens very much needed this game. The vibes weren’t rancid, but they were definitely trending towards funk.

Penguins special teams have been lights out tonight. Tommy Novak and Blake Lizotte are incredibly noticeable out there tonight. Heck of a game all around.

Say what you will about Mike Sullivan’s later years, but there’s no way this game is called the same way by the refs with him behind the bench. What is that…six Flyers power plays?

That said, I think Dan Muse has identified an interesting strategy with Jarry by managing his workload so aggressively.

I still think they have Jarry way too big of a contract. Felt like bidding against nobody. But one thing Jarry does have is a high ceiling. It’s about how often you can expect it.

How much we see Silovs vs Jarry/Murashov may be the single biggest sign of how hard the Pens are trying to win.

My wife and I started renting a cabin in the woods that we disappear to rather than doing some weird tradition that adds stress for minimal rewards. No drama, no fights, and if you pick the right place you can still catch football.

Tomorrow is probably going to be the first time that a Penguins goalie plays in back to back games all season. Let’s hope it turns out better than whatever the heck I just witnessed tonight.

One person that I’ve noticed in a good way tonight is Ryan Graves. No idea what his actual metrics might look like, but every time I’ve explicitly noticed him, it’s because he has done something good.

Legit just had his feet fly out from under him, tried to get up again and flopped over, and slid into the net.

Then Pens might be doing awful in every facet of the game tonight BUT Filip Gustavsson fell on his butt skating from the bench to the crease so things are looking up.

Easiest way to say it is they look like last year.
November 22, 2025 at 1:24 AM
Pretty much. Just no structure to anything, everyone working really hard but without any real idea of what they should be doing.
November 22, 2025 at 1:23 AM
Well, there’s your answer lol
November 22, 2025 at 1:09 AM
The rest of the game may say a lot about the Pens this year. Win or lose, can they regain some structure, and not do the “try to hit 100mph without shifting out of first gear” thing? If so, it’ll say good things about Muse and the leaders in the room. If not…well, the start to the season was fun.

Pens playing like their plane landed four hours ago instead of four days ago.
November 22, 2025 at 12:31 AM
Pens were looking good in the kill until the last second there. Wild up 2-0 after ten minutes, which feels like the fastest the Pens have gone down by this much this season.
November 22, 2025 at 12:27 AM
Man, that’s an ugly goal to give up.
November 22, 2025 at 12:14 AM
9 shots on goal through 32 minutes ain’t gonna get it done. Looks like they forgot to pack their legs.
