The advantage of a star QB on a rookie deal is that you can use draft capital on future starters (rather than on QB) and the cap savings to fill out your roster with veterans.

They don’t seem like they want to play. Everything is slow, half-assed, sloppy. I think this is an overused word, but they should absolutely be embarrassed by this effort.

I previously interpreted this as a “we want to control the clock and take as much time on the ball as possible” approach. (Arguably nonsensical when you almost always have a talent advantage.) This is… something else.
Looking back at the entire Hurts/Sirianni era, the #Eagles have always been slower than almost all other teams at snapping the ball, but through 5 games, this 2025 version is an extreme outlier from all of the other 159 team-seasons in this period.
