The thing is that the modern GOP (not to mention its basement-confined moron stepchild, the Mises Caucus libertarian “party”) is accurately depicted by this language and a critical mass of the party is absolutely fine with it.

It's such a non-story that the speaker of the house has a secret gay dating app. It's probably not even true, and even if Mike Johnson did have a secret gay dating app, I say God bless. The constitution gives us all the God given right to life, liberty, and all the gay dating our hearts desire.

The US isn't the only country in the world leaning towards authoritarianism. But I'll be forever blown away we let it begin, nevermind get this bad, at the heels of an unapologetically stupid man. Zero redeeming qualities. A walking punchline brought us to the brink. Incredible.
