So the feds have now directed states NOT to send out November SNAP benefits.
A whole bunch of people are going to go hungry this Thanksgiving.

Normally, I wouldn't care. But words have power and names carry meaning. It feels very ominous.
The change would return the department to a name that it carried for much of its history, until it became the Department of Defense in the wake of World War II.
