These short days and long nights are very depressing, but at least we can comfort ourselves with the knowledge that now the days are getting longer!

Imagine working hard your entire life and paying into a fund that’s rightfully yours when you’re ready to retire, only to be told by billionaires that it’s “government dependency.”

Sickening.

Distance, for now, is my new answer to politics.
I no longer react.
I no longer argue.
I no longer dive into the drama.
I no longer clench at the sheer malfeasance of it all.
I simply remove my presence.
For now, it's the only thing that will keep me
from going insane.

Question from a relative newbie here— I was reading a thread that mentioned the ability to mute a person. How do you go about doing that? I can’t figure it out.

I can’t stand analyses of our current political climate that don’t take into account how much people are being lied to, and how limited the pipelines of information are becoming. Like for example, an article in the Guardian that claims the GOP has become the party that represents working people.

I decided to have a MAGA free day today, Which meant no cable news, in fact, no news at all. except for local weather reports. I have to say it has been absolutely wonderful!! I highly recommend it.

I’m curious when Adam Schiff will actually start serving as a senator in California, and what will happen with his House seat. I have been confused because I don’t know when “the last two months of the late Senator Feinstein’s term“ actually are.

What’s up with the popular vote?

When I search the web on the popular vote totals for 2024, it shows the same thing as it did yesterday morning. But I know that California hasn’t finished counting the votes. My county isn’t even providing an estimate of when they will be done.
