Hannah Natanson is an exceptional reporter and should never have been subjected to this type of extraordinary intimidation tactic. We have few details now, but it’s hard to interpret this as anything other than an attempt to squash the freedom of the press.

got to interview weir maybe a dozen times & he was always lovely. but he also spoke very slowly, with long thoughtful pauses that made me think we'd been disconnected, but i didn't want to be interupt. so once, when we actually did get disconnected mid-thought, it took me far too long to notice.
