I wanted to get a last bike ride of the year in, but it snowed last night and I didn't want to that much.

demanding that drivers, truckers convenience/freedom to park has to be considered before we can talk about plans for more housing, transit efficiency, pedestrian/cyclist safety is such a fool’s errand.

Why isn’t Market St. in Indianapolis pedestrianized from the State Capitol to the City/County building?

I know it’s the same reasons that so many Chicago are still clogged with provate cars, but this stretch already has the brick treatment. Plant trees in the former parking lanes & it would thrive.

so much of the bike infrastructure debate is shaped by the presupposition that people who drive cars need their cars, whereas people who ride bikes don’t really need them

It's crazy how drivers think "I didn't see you" is exculpatory when they almost run you over. Yeah dude I don't think much of you but I'm pretty sure you don't drive around trying to crush pedestrians for fun. You not seeing me is the problem

The argument that banning someone who has deliberately used their car as a weapon from driving is too severe a limitation of their mobility & opportunity for employment should be a damning indictment of how society treats people who don't or can't drive - who are disproportionately disabled &/ poor.

My daughter just passed her Driver's Ed written final and can get her learner's permit. My thoughts: (A) Jesus time flies; (B) I'm glad I'm a shit driver and won't be asked to teach her; (C) I'm gonna buy her a good bike for her 16th bday.
